You might remember from this post that we scavenged some outdoor furniture from an alley near our house back in the fall. When Adam went to bring them home, I assumed they would sit in our storage shed for a long, long time. Well, we got the itch this weekend to repaint them and we actually finished them. And you know what? They don't look half bad.
Adam spent Saturday morning scrubbing all of the rust off with some steel wool. Here he is looking mighty fine in our protective gear.
Here is a before and after of the back of a chair with rust and without rust.

Even with all of that scrubbing, the furniture still needed a good bit of work.
We gave it a good cleaning...
And then it was painting time. We first applied a rust resistant primer.
Then we sprayed the inside squares a nice lime green.
While this coat was drying, Mimi fixed us a nice lunch and the weather was nice enough to enjoy outside.
The next step was to tape off the green squares so we could paint the rest. We did a border with painters tape...
...and then filled in the center with newspaper. We had a little helper for this part since this step was fume free.
Now, the part I waited so patiently for. The big reveal.
We love them and can't wait to enjoy them this spring!
Wow!! They look amazing! Nice work. :)
