We talked a lot about Ben going to school with Carter and he seemed to understand - as much as a 16 month old can! But I was impressed when he went to get his backpack all by himself and brought it to me to put on his back!
It was absoulutely the coldest morning to all get bundled up and out the door...but we made it!
Here is Carter showing Ben the way to the car...
He had a great first day! His teacher's commented on how communicative he is for his age. (I think they were mainly referring to his demanding "More! More! More!" with voice and sign language when they had the goldfish out!) They also said that he seemed to understand most of what they said.
Best part for Mama? There were no Ben tears! Not sure day 2 or 3 will go as well, but I am very happy with Day 1. And very pleased to now have some Ben artwork from school on the fridge...
(The Ben artwork is the black scribble...the DADA collage was made by Carter at the Children's Museum.)
Way to go Ben!
This must be the empty nest syndrome, but at a very early stage. Enjoy your free time, but love on your boys when you pick them up and show GREAT interest in what they are accomplishing at school.
