Santa Train

There was one event I was told we had to go to this year in Durham...the Santa Train at the Life and Science Museum. It sells out every year and is a great fundraiser for a museum we love so we decided to give it a shot.

This was Elf Rachel. She greeted us at the train station and was very authentic. She asked us if we had an elf at home to which Carter replied..."yes, and his name is Elfie." And Rachel said that she knew Elfie. How cute!



Here we are on the train ready to go to the North Pole.





We were the first one in line for our ticket time so we got to ride in the first row. Carter and Adam had a pretty good view...



Here we are at the North Pole...polar bears and all. :)



Mrs. Claus and Santa came to our seat. Mrs. Claus handed out some candy and Santa asked the boys what they wanted for Christmas and told them he knew they had been good boys this year.



After we left the North Pole, we saw Rudolph flying in the trees (a red light that they must have had on a wire that "flew" up a diagonal line.)

Once we got back to the station...we all enjoyed some hot chocolate and made some reindeer food to set out on Christmas Eve.



It was a pretty magical experience.
